A ‘Forever apartment to call Home’ – Fox Johnston’s design for this new 76- apartment building in Erskineville, inner western Sydney, responds to the changing demographics driving a new maturity in the apartment market. These people are often choosing an apartment over a house, and want to live there long term.

So the goal was to create a series of apartments providing all the things people have in a large family home, yet one that is more compact, is better designed, has higher quality materials and is more connected to its area and streetscape.

The design places owner-occupiers at its core, and all design, detailing and materials choices were made with this in mind. It is effectively a collection of ‘houses’ that are more about the quality of the spaces than about outlook, image and views, although most apartments are filled with light and have good views to the surrounding districts.

Fox Johnston designed both the building and its interiors, ensuring a seamless connection between the two.
